2012 is here. We’ve taken a bit of a holiday the past couple weeks, but now we’re back behind the wheel.
Why New Year’s Resolutions Fail
New Year’s Resolutions are famously short-lived. Everyone sees the new year as a chance at a clean start; an opportunity to make those significant changes we, for whatever reason, couldn’t see through in the previous year. Simply put, there isn’t much resolve behind our resolutions. Instead of coming up with epic resolutions and struggling to make them happen, let’s try something a little simpler.
Focus: 3 Words
Instead of resolutions – specific destinations – how about we try the pursuit of general directions this year? Can you come up with three words to keep you on track this year? Here are the ones I came up with.
- responsibility – If it is to be, it is up to me. I don’t want to miss out.
- action – What good are ideas if I don’t act on them? I get plenty of crazy ideas.
- freedom – I want to put the rat race behind me this year and blaze new trails.
What would your 3 words be for 2012? And do you have a theme song?
Maybe you’d prefer to pass on the three words thing. That’s fine. Do you have a theme song picked out? It might sound corny, but is there a song that pretty much sums up where you are right now? For me, it’s AC/DC’s “Long Way to the Top.”
What’s your theme song?
