It’s winter in the northern hemisphere. In a big part of the world that means that there’s a lot of bad weather, freezing, and snow. For me it’s the opportunity to see my car dirty like it’s never been before. What’s the dirtiest your car has ever been? In the winter, rain, rally, or whatever; show your pics!
Here in the Netherlands, it’s been freezing like it hasn’t frozen in about 25+ years. Lakes are frozen and even complete rivers are frozen. Because this country isn’t used to such temperatures, there are a lot of problems with the infrastructure and even the cars. Diesel freezes in the tank and it’s impossible to start the car, because no one realized in time they had to add some additives to the diesel.
As a mechanic, I get to see things I’ve never seen before (since we normally don’t have those low temperatures here). But when I look at my car, I see one of the worst things. My pride and joy looks like it hasn’t been washed in 10 years, and there’s no point in washing her, because the water freezes before it even touches the car. And washing her in the garage is pointless as well, because she’ll look like this again within a few days. Time for the cold to get out of here, so I can give my car a decent wash!
And if you realize that the Omega normally looks like this, and gets a 4+ hour wash every week:
Enough pictures of my car, time to show yours. Preferably both just after a wash, and when it’s in the most dirty condition you’ve ever had it in. Post the pictures in our completely new forum and become a part of the global gearheads community as well! It’s very easy (and free!) to register, and even easier to upload attachements such as pictures/videos and so on.
- Do you wash your car in the winter? If so, how often and how is it different from summer washes?
- Do you live in a part of the world where winter really means WINTER, and you get a lot of bad weather, a lot of freezing, and snow?
- And, if you live south of the Equator, is it summertime now, or do you consider winter to be the warm season?
