Toyota USA recently launched their new timeline Facebook page. They uploaded a lot of pictures, but what is most interesting is that they’ve uploaded many vintage pictures. They’ve made a few errors as well, but overall it’s a very nice move from Toyota USA – and we get to see quite rare (and a few never seen before) pictures!
You can’t really blame them for the errors they’ve made, since most of the people wouldn’t even notice them; and they are probably only trying to have some examples of the cars they are talking about in the text, but in this case I would’ve chosen another picture… Their caption to the following picture is:
The 1976 Celica becomes the first Toyota vehicle to win the “Import Car of the Year” Award.
While in fact they show a picture of a pre-’76 Celica, as any Toyota enthousiast would see/know. What makes it even worse is the fact that the license plate clearly says: 1971 Celica…
There are a few more errors like this, but if you take a look at the rest they’ve uploaded you simply can’t complain about small things like this. There are a lot of pictures going back to even 1957, so there’s enough eye candy and rarely seen pictures. A quick overview of the most interesting pictures:
